The ‘Welcome to London’ tour

What’s the plan?

  • Learn about the horrible plague pit that was discovered here and the assassination attempt on Queen Victoria (you'll be very surprised by the punishment given to the wannabe assassin!). After that, we'll take a leisurely stroll through the park.

  • Here we will watch the incredible and historic Changing of the Guard ceremony outside the magnificent palace that represents the heart of the British monarchy.

  • Find out the bizarre story of why there are a family of pelicans living in the park. Let's take a stroll through one of London's most beautiful parks!

  • Learn the horrible history of the worst husband in the history of England, King Henry VIII, the man who built the palace. Why did he have 6 wives? Why did he kill 2 of them?

  • Who is Lord Nelson and why does he have such a tall statue in Trafalgar Square?

  • Learn about Larry the cat, who lives with the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street.

  • Why does the King have two birthdays? How does he celebrate them?

  • Churchill. Hero or villain?

  • Learn about the coronation of the King

  • What goes on inside this beautiful building? How close did Guy Fawkes come to blowing it all up in 1605?

You’ll start at - The Ritz London

You’ll end at - Westminster Station

“Gavin is awesome! We really enjoyed the tour, Gavin ensured that nobody got bored for even a second, neither my two adolescent companions nor myself. He had the most interesting facts and his storytelling shows, how interested he is in the English and especially London history. We were fascinated by the sometimes random but very funny facts he knew about London. We were more than happy with our choice of discovering London with Gavin. One of the highlights of our London visit - if not THE highlight. Thank you so much.”
